I am an avid do it yourselfer and thrifty doc, (physics major worked in aerospace acoustics lab...been building Heath kits
since childhood) but why would you want used software? The serial number is attached to the other doc permanently
and you won't be able to upgrade or bill electronically as the SN and TAT # likewise linked. Plus the software is so
cheap, who cares? most Medical Software companies makes their money not on selling you the software, but
on charging us $200/hour to install, register, and learn to use the software, if they can find docs dumb or busy enough farming
out their admin and back office. Buy your software new and find a doc and/or biller who can help you set it up.
It can be tricky, v 9 requires a little file called HCFA11.exe and HCFAFILE.exe which you have to download off of their website.
And you can't pay them to set up your CPT codes and ICD codes...only you know which ones you use. Of course they won't
tell you that unless you give them an extra $1000 in tech support fees. I learned that from a biller. If you are
technically good, get on all of the Medical software websites and research intallation etc. It will take you hours but
in the end it is worth it. You can call me if you can catch me. I am pretty expert with Medisoft and Medilync.
Trying to learn 2kmobile now. Tell me about yourself...are you new in practice or nearly retired? I am in the
middle of moving from Michigan to TN. Talk to y'all later. I have lots of time to chat as I drive a few hundred
miles a day for now.
